Finally, at long last, the evenings are getting longer and with it the smell of crisp autumn air. To celebrate its arrival, I selected some of my favorite autumn quotes to share with you.

In ode to Autumn, I want to start with a quote by Hal Borland that says what I want to say, but the words wouldn’t come…

“Autumn is the eternal corrective. It is ripeness and color and a time of maturity; but it is also breadth, and depth, and distance. What man can stand with autumn on a hilltop and fail to see the span of his world and the meaning of the rolling hills that reach to the far horizon?”

It’s nuts on the ground. It’s a crisp dry sound. It’s green leaves turning And the smell of them burning. It’s clouds in the sky. It’s fall. That’s why… I love fall.”
